No Golf Carts On Kingsport Roadways…Unless

A great deal of misinformation and misunderstanding on the legalities of operating golf carts on Kingsport roadways is leading the Kingsport Police Department to conduct an education and clarification campaign. Tennessee law recognizes Traditional Golf Carts, Low Speed Vehicles, and Medium Speed Vehicles, each with its own safety specifications and requirements. A Traditional Golf Cart is defined as a motor vehicle designed for operation on golf courses and is not capable of exceeding speeds of twenty miles per hour.
