Residents Near Slate Creek In Buchanan County Told To Avoid Contact With Water
The Virginia Department of Health is advising people and their pets to avoid contact with a portion of a southwest Virginia waterway due to ongoing sewage overflow from a broken sewer main. The health advisory extends along Slate Creek in Buchanan County from the intersection of state route 83 and Bluegill Road downstream to the creeks confluence with the Livisa River at the intersection of routes 83 and 460 in Grundy and affects approximately three point four miles of the waterway.
