Flu vaccine now available through Mount Rogers Health District

As flu season approaches combined with the effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Mount Rogers Health District is strongly encouraging residents to get their flu vaccine.

A news release from the health department says those vaccines are now available. District Director Dr. Karen Shelton said getting a flu vaccination could help reduce outpatient illnesses, hospitalizations, and ICU admissions in addition to helping protect the local and regional health systems. The Mount Rogers Health District covers the counties of Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, Washington, Wythe as well as the cities of Bristol and Galax.
