Southwest Virginia Town Named To Virginia Main Street Program
A Southwest Virginia town’s efforts to reposition its economy has caught the attention of Governor Ralph Northam. The Town of Tazewell Virginia’s Tazewell Project is one of four communities chosen statewide to become a part of the Virginia Main Street program. Tazewell already boasts its popular Back of the Dragon, 32 miles of roadway with more than 300 curves for motorcycle enthusiasts . Tazewell is also listed on the National and Virginia Landmark registers because it contains historic resources, distinct, pre 1900 architectural styles. The Virginia Main Street program has generated more than one point three billion dollars in private investment and resulted in a net gain of more than 15 thousand jobs since 1985.
