President Trump submits judicial nominees for Tennessee federal court
President Donald Trump has made two nominations to fill judicial vacancies in the Eastern District of Tennessee following recommendations from Senators Lamar Alexander and Marsha Blackburn.
Chuck Atley, Jr., would replace retiring Judge Harry Mattice who announced his intentions of leaving the bench in March. Atley has been with the US Attorney’s Office since 2001.
The other nominee is current Department of Justice official Katherine Crytzer who previously served as a federal prosecutor in Kentucky. She would fill the vacancy created by the death of Judge Pamela Reeves, a Marion, Virginia native who died one week ago.
