Honaker’s Heath Miller named Pro Football Hall of Fame nominee
Honaker, Virginia native, and Super Bowl Champion Heath Miller was named to the nominee list for the 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Miller was the quarterback that led the Tigers to the VHSL Group A state title game in 2000. He continued his career and made the switch to tight end while playing at the University of Virginia.
The Pittsburgh Steelers made Miller a first-round draft pick in 2005. He spent 11 seasons in the Steel City where he was named to the Pro Bowl twice, won two Super Bowls, and is one of only 12 tight ends in NFL history to have more than 6,000 receiving yards.
Miller is among 130 players to be evaluated by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee. The field will then be narrowed down to five finalists. The inductees will be announced during Super Bowl Week in February.
