Last Weeks Tri Cities Airport Gun Confiscation Wasn’t The Only One in Tennessee Airports

Last Thursday’s discovery of a loaded Ruger 9mm handgun at Tri Cities Airport, apparently wasn’t the only confiscation that took place across the state. In the span of one week, the Transportation Security Administration discovered eight loaded firearms at security checkpoints at airports in Nashville, Memphis, McGhee Tyson, Chattanooga Metropolitian and at Tri Cities. Firearms are prohibited in
carry on luggage. But may be transported in checked baggage if it is declared to the airline, locked in a proper carrying case and is not loaded. The TSA has detected 106 firearms at Tennessee airports to date in 2020.
