TN Supreme Court upholds ruling in Morristown lawyer’s license suspension
The Tennessee Supreme Court has upheld a lower court ruling in suspending a Morristown lawyer’s license for two years.
A previous ruling by an independent panel found that Douglas Ralph Beier made false representations in a child custody case, in addition to exploiting a client with a disability in an estate case and engaging in dishonest conduct. The panel ruled Beier’s license would be suspended for two years with only three months active suspension with the rest of time on probation, but upon appeal to a chancery court, that court increased the suspension to two full years, which was affirmed by the state’s high court.
Beier has been practicing law in Tennessee since 1977.
