UPDATE: Driver charged in fatal 2018 crash that killed Cloudland student released on bond
A Kingsport, Tennessee man charged in the 2018 death of a Cloudland High School student in a fatal car crash has posted bond.
Court officials confirmed that Curtis Ray Mowdy, 31, was given a list of conditions before being released until his court hearings by Judge Lisa Rice including wearing a drug patch, not driving, and no consumption of alcohol.
Mowdy requested and was appointed a new attorney last year and had requests to suppress evidence and dismiss his case rejected in Criminal Court.
He was arrested in North Carolina and extradited back to Tennessee following the March 2018 crash that killed 17-year-old Brandi Thompson. Mowdy is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and assault.
