Two schools in the Scott County, Va school system will move to fully remote learning due to COVID-19.
Assistant Superintendent Jason Smith told us at Thursday’s night special called school board meeting that the board voted to move Gate City Middle and High School to virtual learning starting next Monday, with an anticipated return to in-person learning Thu Nov. 5.
Smith said there are 8 positive COVID-19 cases confirmed at the middle school, two positive cases confirmed at the high school and a total of 90 students between the two schools in quarantine.
All other schools in the system will continue operating on a four day in-person learning schedule.
