Sports Betting Could Get In On Action, If Voters Approve Next Weeks Casino Referendum

If voters in Bristol, Virginia approve the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Bristol Referendum next week, it won’t be long before gaming enthusiasts are able to bet on sporting events. The application process for sports betting in Virginia ends October 31. Its expected about a dozen different betting companies will be granted licenses in Virginia. And according to the state lottery, which oversees sports betting, mid to late December is the earliest possible launch date. Mobile only sports betting was approved by lawmakers in a special called session and a clause allows future casinos in the state to get in on the betting action. And that all depends if voters approve next Tuesday’s Referendum.
