NEW: Former Scott County deputy sentenced to 2 years in prison for embezzlement, wire fraud
A former Scott County, Virginia deputy who pleaded guilty to federal embezzlement and fraud last year received a two-year prison sentence on Thursday.
Jeff Spicer, 52, of Gate City, was the subject of an FBI investigation that uncovered a scheme that bilked $20,000 in federal dollars for overtime hours he did not work.
Spicer also admitted to soliciting sexual favors from females placed on home monitoring through a business he owned that was used by Circuit Court officials. During those three years, he also collected more than $13,000 although no services were performed.
