Temporary closures planned in Abingdon during West Main construction project

Construction has commenced on a road project near downtown Abingdon that could disrupt traffic patterns for several weeks.

New entrances being built to 271 West Main Street will result in temporary closures of Plumb Alley from Reservoir Street to Wall Street throughout the length of the roadwork schedule, according to a statement issued by the town.

Alternate routes are suggested and the scheduled completion of the project is January 6.
