ECS: Elizabethton High School shifting to hybrid learning starting Thursday due to increase of COVID-19
Students who attend in-person classes at Elizabethton High School will soon transition to a hybrid model starting Thursday due to rising COVID-19 cases.
The change does not effect any other school in the Elizabethton City School system including distance learners. The system said the change will see students at the school split up into two groups by last name. The change will run through at least Thanksgiving Break, and we have a full breakdown of the upcoming schedule below:
For this week, students in Cohort A will attend school on Thursday, November 5, and be virtual all other days. Students in Cohort B will attend school on Friday, November 6, and be virtual on all other days.
For the following two weeks, from November 9 – 20, Cohort A students will attend school in person on Mondays and Tuesday and virtually on Wednesdays through Fridays. Cohort B students will attend school virtually on Mondays through Wednesdays and in-person on Thursdays and Fridays.
During the week of Thanksgiving Break, Cohort A students will attend school in person on Monday, November 23, and virtually on Tuesday. Cohort B students will attend virtually on Monday and in-person on Tuesday, November 24.
Again, this change only applies to students at Elizabethton High School. All other Elizabethton City Schools will remain on the same 4-day schedule that has been in place.
