Two men charged following shootout on Appalachia street
Two men are charged following a shootout on the streets of Appalachia Tuesday afternoon.
A report from Wise County Sheriff Grant Kilgore said the incident happened just before 5:30 on Boggs Avenue and involved Aaron Micheal Mosley trying to intentionally wreck another vehicle driven by Jason Daniel Mullins that had three passengers inside.
The two started shooting at each other after the vehicles came to a stop then Mosley fled the scene when police arrived. He was stopped and arrested in nearby Big Stone Gap.
Mosley, 38, of Pennington Gap, is charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder while Mullins, 39, of Appalachia, faces one count of the same charge.
Court documents said the two men had previous disagreements involving a female acquaintance and Mosley had reportedly made threats to kill Mullins on a social media site.
No injuries were reported and the investigation is continuing.
