THP: Charges pending, woman hospitalized after being hit while on lawnmower

Charges are pending against a driver following a crash Sunday in Carter County that left a woman on a lawnmower hospitalized.

Tennessee Highway Patrol says Bernice Spears Jr., 56, of Elizabethton, TN, was traveling north on State Route 91, when he reportedly crossed into the south lanes and off the roadway, before sideswiping a utility pole.

Spears’s vehicle then hit Che Creedon, 43, who was on a lawnmower, throwing Creedon off the lawnmower and landing in the roadway.

Creedon was taken to the hospital for unknown injuries, and charges are pending against Spears Jr.
