Town of Abingdon participating in America Recycle’s Day with own event on Saturday morning

Abingdon residents and businesses will have a chance to recycle electronic waste and shred documents as part of America Recycle’s Day on Saturday.

The event is being held at the Abingdon Police Department parking lot and is presented by the Town of Abingdon Sustain Abingdon Committee and Keep SWVA Beautiful. In addition to recyclables, donations are needed which include gently used shoes, non-perishable food items, and supplies for the local animal shelter that includes food, treats, cat litter, blankets, bleach, and detergent.

The event is open only to those who live in Abingdon and will take place from 9 a.m-12 p.m.
