Report: TN Comptroller’s Office uncovers $25.8 million in fraud, waste, and abuse since Jan. 2016
Four years of investigations have allowed the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office to uncover nearly $26 million in fraud, waste, and abuse in the state.
A report from the agency says they have released 218 reports since Jan. of 2016 related to fraud and deficiencies involving a variety of entities including city and county governments, schools, universities, and utility companies that have resulted in 131 indictments.
Locally, the Comptroller’s Office has investigated 25 different entities across the seven Northeast TN counties over the time period. You can view what local entities were investigated by clicking on the link here.
