UPDATE: Sheriff reports Thursday shooting in Buchanan County, Virginia was a murder-suicide

Buchanan County, Virginia Sheriff John McClanahan said Monday his investigators have ruled a Thursday night shooting at a home on Big A Mountain a murder-suicide.

A preliminary report from state medical examiners determined both men, Shane Tyler Lester, 26, of Davenport, and, Samuel Waylin Rose, 24, of Honaker, both died from gunshot wounds.

Buchanan County detectives said from the evidence gathered it appears that Rose shot Lester just after 11 pm and then turned the gun on himself. The investigation is still continuing. McClanhan concluded.
