Virginia Group Rejects Northam’s Proposal To Legalize Marijuana

A Virginia based, non partisan, group that opposes the commercialization of marijuana on Monday slammed Governor Ralph Northam’s proposal to legalize pot in the upcoming session of the General Assembly. On Monday, Northam announced it was time to legalize marijuana in the Commonwealth. Dr. Kevin Sabet, President of Smart Approaches to Marijuana says policy makers in Virginia have sent very clear signals the end goal is a commercial marijuana market in the Commonwealth and that is unacceptable. Dr. Sabet went on to say he looks forward to working over the coming months to educate lawmakers in Richmond as to the pitfalls of commercialization of marijuana.
