Griffith Bill To Prevent Opioid Abuse Passes House
Ninth District United States Republican Congressman Morgan Griffith’s bill to prevent opioid abuse passes in the house on Tuesday. H.R. 4812 Ensuring Compliance Against Drug Diversion Act was sponsored by Griffith, who says the opioid crisis grew in part due to the abuse of opioids legally manufactured and sold. The bill amends the Controlled Substances Act and will close legal loopholes that could enable opioid abuse and will also prohibit the transfer of any Drug Enforcement Agency registration to manufacture, distribute, or dispense controlled substances without written consent from the agency.
