UPDATE: VSP identifies Bland County homicide victim

State Police have identified the female victim in a homicide that happened Nov. 5 in Bland County, VA.

An update from Virginia State Police says Janice McBerry Poole, 56, of Griffin, Ga. was the individual found in a gravel lot off of Interstate 77’s Exit 58. Authorities have arrested a suspect in the case, Gilbert Riggs, 58, of Bluefield, West Virginia on charges including one felony count of second degree murder and felony hit and run.
