Fire destroys home Tuesday night in Roan Mountain

A home in Roan Mountain is destroyed following a fire late Tuesday night.

The Hampton Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department along with the Roan Mountain Volunteer Fire Department were called to a structure fire just before 11 p.m., at the 100 block of Buck Mountain Rd. Crews said they saw heavy fire coming through the attic space and venting space through the roof. All occupants inside the home were able to escape without injuries.

The department cleared the scene just after 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.
