NEW: Two in custody, charged with murder of 10-year-old in Carter County drive-by shooting
Two men were arraigned Thursday in Carter County Sessions Court after being arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of 10-year-old Lillyhannah Davis while a third suspect is at large.
Jason Barber, 18, and, Jediah Glover, 20, were given a $930,000 and indicated they would need help in hiring legal counsel.
Zachary Scalf was identified by Sheriff Dexter Lunceford as the third suspect in the case and requested the public’s help to find him. “He’s the third thug,” the sheriff commented.
Lillyhannah was the lone victim in Tuesday’s drive-by shooting on Blevins Road in Elizabethton. Sheriff Dexter Lunceford said she was asleep on a couch when her home was hit by several rounds of gunfire.
Preliminary word from investigators says the incident was an act of revenge for a previous shooting that took place last month.
Lunceford said that Barber and Glover were taken into custody at a residence on Buchanan Road in Jonesborough by officers with the Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office.
