Report: Revenge for Halloween fight and shooting led to Tuesday’s drive-by that killed Elizabethton girl
A criminal complaint filed in Sessions Court identifies the suspected shooters, the wheelman, and the motive in a Tuesday incident in Elizabethton that killed 10-year-old Lillyhanna Davis.
Jason Bryan Barber, II, of Jonesborough, confessed to Carter County investigators that he and the two other suspects, Jediah Shane Glover and Zachary Scalf, planned and carried out the drive-by shooting at the home of Lillyhanna Davis’ mother and stepfather on Blevins Road.
Barber told officers he drove the vehicle while Scalf and Glover fired shots into the home that night. He said it was revenge for a fight and shooting at the same Blevins Road home on Oct. 31 where another man, Zaylor Arnett, was wounded.
The report said 21 rounds were fired into the dwelling with one of the shots striking Lillyhanna in the head. She died later that morning from her wounds.
Barber, Glover, and Scalf were all arrested Thursday and charged with the girl’s murder.
