Kingsport City Schools to continue on in-person, hybrid schedule through Dec. 18

Kingsport City School officials have elected to keep the school system on its current operating plan through Dec. 18.

That includes PreK-6 grade students, who are currently attending classes in-person five days a week, while students in Grades 6-12 are attending on a hybrid schedule, with two groups separated by last names attending classes two days in-person and three days virtual.

As for the week of Thanksgiving, students will only attend classes Monday-Tuesday, as PreK-6 grade students will go both days in-person, while Group A in Grades 6-12 will go Monday with a Tuesday virtual learning day, while Group B will start Monday virtual while they will go in-person on Tuesday.
