Regional health director recommends remote learning for SW Virginia schools until January
Lenowisco Health District director Dr. Sue Cantrell has sent a notice to all Southwest Virginia school administrators urging them to transition to all virtual learning following the Thanksgiving break.
Cantrell cited a major upswing in COVID cases along with upcoming holiday gatherings and travel as just two of the reasons for the proactive move.
She noted that it will take a three to four week period for the effects of these meetings and events to take hold and keeping students out of the classroom until January would bode well for possible in-person learning to return.
