HCS Director: Surgoinsville Middle School to continue with virtual learning through Dec. 1 due to ‘staff quarantines’

One Hawkins County Middle School will continue to stay with fully virtual learning at least through the first day of Dec. due to staffing quarantines related to the coronavirus.

Director of Schools Matt Hixson published on social media that this is only for Surgoinsville Middle School, who were originally suppose to return to in-person classes on Nov. 30.

Staff and students are now expected to return to a form of in-person instruction on Dec. 2.
