Spring 2021 semester plans announced for Wytheville Community College
Students attending Wytheville Community College will see most classes being offered online when the Spring semester begins in January.
Chancellor of Virginia’s Community College System Dr. Glenn DuBois stated his intentions of keeping the state’s community colleges mostly online in an effort to continue keep students, faculty, and staff safe during the coronavirus pandemic. School officials say a limited number of in-person classes will be offered next semester including in occupational and healthcare programs that require hands-on training. Access to Wytheville Community College buildings will remain limited.
A number of student support services like advising, counseling, and tutoring are being offered virtually. The college has expanded wifi service to parking lots on the Wytheville campus and at its site at the Crossroads Institute in Galax. Registration for Spring classes are now open and the college is offering in-person registration opportunities on Friday, December 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and again on Thursday, December 10, from 2:00 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Spring semester starts Jan. 11.
