TBI: One injured, no officers hurt following shooting involving Greene County Sheriff’s Office Thursday afternoon
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a shooting that occurred Thursday which left one man injured in Greeneville.
State authorities say the Greene County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home on Laughlin Rd. around 4:00 p.m, where a caller said a man was inside her garage attempting to set it on fire. The woman then told police the man had a gun. Authorities made contact with the man, and the TBI says the situation reportedly escalated, resulting in a deputy firing shots and striking the man.
The man was taken to the hospital and no officers were injured in the incident.
