Harshbarger: “I’m praying for you”, TN 1st District Congresswoman-elect offers support to Ballad healthcare workers

TN’s 1st District Congresswoman-elect Diana Harshbarger is offering words of encouragement to area healthcare workers at Ballad Health.

“I am standing beside of you, I am praying for you, and for your safety, for your families, and for those precious patients you take care of on a daily basis,” said Harshbarger.

Harshbarger thanked those working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic during the nearly 3 minute long video published and shared on social media by Ballad Health.

Harshbarger is also calling on the community to continue following all COVID-19 health precautions to limit the burden on the healthcare provider as they continue to deal with large numbers of coronavirus related hospitalizations. Prior to release of daily hospitalization numbers on Thursday, Ballad Health was treating 321 patients for COVID-19 across their 21 county service area that included 74 of those patients in the ICU, and 42 on a ventilator.

Harshbarger, who is set to take office as part of the 117th US Congress at the beginning of the year, has worked in healthcare for over three decades as a pharmacist in Kingsport.
