Tennessee expected to receive Moderna COVID-19 vaccine shipments around Dec. 21
The TN Dept. of Health expects to receive first shipments of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine by early next week.
State health officials say they are expecting around 115,000 initial doses of the vaccine over the next few weeks and those should be shipped to all 95 county health departments on or around Dec. 21. Certain smaller hospitals that are not receiving the Pfizer vaccine should get the Moderna vaccine the week of Dec. 28.
This news follows the endorsement of the Moderna vaccine by an FDA advisory panel on Thursday, and emergency authorization for use of the vaccine is expected to be granted.
