Vaccine In Virginia Being Distributed…But not Administered…Logistics Part Of The Problem
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the State of Virginia ranks near the bottom of the country when it comes to the percentage of vaccines used among states. In fact, information from the Virginia Department of Health indicates barely 20 percent of the state’s current shipments have been administered. Some of that is due to the percentage of vaccine shipments allotted for long term care facility residents and staff. State officials say 500 thousand people are eligible for the first round of vaccinations. The slow administration of the vaccine is leaving thousands of front line workers and long term care residents and staff without a first dose as the COVID 19 numbers continue to rise.
