Southwest Virginia Coalition To Discuss Abandoned Coal Mine Reclamation Projects

Reclaiming abandoned, southwest Virginia coal minds could lead to innovative ventures creating recreational sites and create jobs in the region. That is the topic of discussion in an upcoming webinar being conducted by the Reclaiming Appalachia Coalition. The group is highlighting new potential projects that would not only clean up the abandoned coal mines, but also give them new life as recreational sites, recycling centers, and other innovative ideas. The report highlights sites in six states including Virginia where numerous abandoned coal mines are located in Southwest Virginia.
