Police: Stabbing, break-in investigations underway in Chilhowie, VA

Police in Chilhowie, VA are investigating a stabbing and break-in that occurred within two hours of each other Tuesday night.

Published reports say the stabbing reportedly happened around 7 p.m at an area on E. Lee Highway, resulting in the arrest of suspect Jessee McGhee on malicious wounding charges, while the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for unknown injuries. Police were then alerted to a break-in call at Chilhowie Drug around 8:30 p.m, but no suspects have been identified as of yet in that incident.

The Smyth County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the break in case, and more information is expected to be released.
