TN Sec. of State: “Protect Your Address, Protect Yourself” campaign launched, stalking and domestic abuse victims eligible to use Safe at Home address program
A new Tennessee campaign is working to protect victims of human trafficking, domestic abuse, stalking, and any sexual offense.
The Secretary of State’s Office has launched the “Protect Your Address, Protect Yourself,” campaign as part of the Safe at Home program, a free program that works to shield the real address of victims from their abusers through public records by providing approved applicants a substitute address which could be used for legal purposes.
Tennessee state law allows for most state and local government records to be public, making it easier for abusers to track their victims. Participants interested in the program must complete an application with a partner agency, and a list of all the partnering agencies with Certified Application Assistants to guide participants through enrollment can be found at SafeAtHomeTN.com.
More information about the Safe at Home program can be found by calling 615-253-3043.
