Richlands man wanted for kidnapping arrested in Radford

A man wanted for kidnapping and other charges in Tazewell County has been apprehended in Radford.

Information from the Radford City Police Department says Jason Edward Matney, 45, of Richlands, was arrested early Thursday after receiving a tip of Matney being spotted in the Rock Road area.

Warrants were already secured for Matney following an incident on Dec. 20. He is also charged with brandishing a firearm, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and various weapon violations.

Matney is being held without bond in the New River Valley Regional Jail.
