VDH Data: More than 20,000 Southwest Virginians have received at least one of two COVID-19 vaccine doses
Over 20,000 first round COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Southwest Virginia.
Information from the Virginia Dept. of Health showed as of Tuesday, 20,127 first round doses have been given out to region residents, while just over 1,500 of those individuals are fully vaccinated. Washington County has administered the most doses at 3,896, while Smyth and Wise counties have administered just over 2,000 doses respectively.
Virginia has given out over 300,000 first dose shots, while nearly 37,000 people are fully vaccinated. Below is a county/city breakdown of first and second round virus vaccine doses in the Southwest Virginia health districts of Cumberland Plateau, LENOWISCO, and Mount Rogers:
