Two injured in midnight crash on Interstate 81 in Greene County

Two people were injured in a Wednesday morning crash on Interstate 81 that snarled traffic in Greene County.

A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol says a car driven by Gregory Hamrick, 37, of Lenoir, Tennessee, struck another vehicle from behind while traveling northbound just after midnight.

Hamrick’s car then went off the right side of the road and struck two trees before coming to a rest in the median.

Hamrick and his passenger, Brittany Butler, 27, of Powell, Tennessee, were transported to a Johnson City hospital for treatment.
