Virginia Agriculture Secretary Named To USDA Number Two Position By President Biden

Virginia’s Agriculture Commissioner is being named by President Biden to the number two position at the United States Agriculture Department. Dr. Jewell Hairston Bronaugh will become the deputy Agriculture secretary. In that position, she would be responsible for the day to day USDA operations and report directly to the Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsac, who lead the department for the Obama administration. If the Senate approves Bronaugh she would become the first black to hold the second in command position at the USDA.
