Virginia Trying To Speed Up Administration Of COVID-19 Vaccines
Residents in Virginia’s long term care facilities have received less than one-third of vaccine doses set aside for those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s according to a published report in the Associated Press. A federal contract with CVS Health and Walgreen’s shows the Commonwealth has received 226 thousand doses for residents and staff members at nursing homes and assisted living facilities and only 70 thousand 834 vaccines had been dispensed as of Monday. Virginia’s rollout of the vaccine is ranked in the bottom ten of states nationwide.
