UPDATE: Bristol, TN man struck and killed by SUV in crash Sunday night in Washington County, VA

Police have identified a Bristol, TN man who was struck and killed Sunday night in Washington County, VA.

Virginia State Police report Kenneth Tester, 54, had run out of gas just before 6 p.m while driving south along Highway 11 and had parked the vehicle on the edge of the road partially in the travel lane.

Tester was standing beside the truck when an SUV driven by a Bristol, VA man, also traveling south on Highway 11, reportedly struck Tester and the truck. Tester died at the scene and did not have reflective clothing on, but did have hazard lights flashing at the time of the wreck.

State Police say charges are pending in the wreck in consultation with the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
