Sullivan County man indicted on fraud charges for allegedly giving false information about vehicle registration
A Sullivan County grand jury has indicted a man for numerous fraud charges on allegations he provided false and fraudulent information about his boat and truck registration.
Royce Sutphin was indicted Jan. 27 following an investigation by the Tenn. Dept. of Revenue, and faces the following charges that includes five counts of tax evasion, six counts of forgery, and one count of theft. Sutphin could face up to 8 years in prison and nearly $30,000 in fines if convicted on all charges.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office told us that Sutphin has been released on a $50,000 bond.
