UT President says normalcy to return to Knoxville campus for fall 2021 semester
University of Tennessee president Randy Boyd announced more in-person classes are expected for the fall semester in Knoxville due to improved pandemic conditions and a drop in virus cases.
Boyd touted the traditional college experience on campus will be a reality because most students have already made adjustments to their daily routine to where COVID safety has been integrated. There will also be an increase in the availability of virus vaccines to students.
The news comes on the heels of a 24 percent increase in COVID cases recorded by UT health officials earlier this month.
