Tennessee hits milestone with more than 1 million residents receiving COVID vaccine
The Tennessee Department of Health has reached a historic milestone with the amount of COVID vaccines administered topping the 1 million mark.
Data released by the agency Tuesday says people ages 71 to 80 account for the largest group of vaccinated residents at nearly 32 percent or more than 216,000. More than 427,000 women have received the shot along with 264,000 men, according to the report.
The Centers for Disease Control said nearly 12 percent of the US population has gotten immunized against COVID with 52 million vaccines distributed since December.
