Florida police confirm investigation into death of Johnson City man shot at Rainbow Gathering event
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office in Ocala, Florida has confirmed the death of a Johnson City native in that locale is being investigated as a homicide.
Larry DeWayne Dugger, 41, was pronounced dead at a hospital following a shooting Friday night at a Rainbow Gathering event in the Ocala National Forest.
Officers arrived just after 10:30 and found Dugger being treated for a gunshot wound by numerous bystanders. Media reports said a convoy of trucks were seen in the area prior to the shooting that was driving fast through the camp while harassing visitors.
A GoFundMe account established by Dugger’s brother has already exceeded its goal to help the family with funeral costs.
