Rent to go outdoors: Tennessee State Parks strikes deal with camping retailer to meet forecast demand
Tennessee State Parks has announced a partnership with an outdoor product retailer to make camping consumer-friendly for the upcoming season.
Everything from tents to trekking poles will be available for rent through the special arrangement with Arrive Outdoors that can have all camping items shipped to a visitor’s home or designated store and then have everything shipped back for free.
Environment Deputy Director Jim Bryson said the expense of gear was the reason for the rental agreement with Arrive. The other was the surge of campers who came to parks in the state in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. More than 34 million visits were made last year.
