Washington County, VA School to increase in-person learning days for all students starting Feb. 25

School leaders in Washington County, VA are increasing in-person learning days for all students set to take effect next Thursday.

Superintendent Dr. Brian Ratliff said in a letter to families that the district’s school board approved a plan to increase face-to-face learning days for students in grades 4-12 from two days a week to four days a week. Students in K-3 grade are already attending four days per week in-person.

When this plan takes effect on Feb. 25, Dr. Ratliff says school families will have two options for students, either option 1 of going in-person four days per week or choosing option 2, which is a fully remote learning plan.

For the in-person learning plan, students will go to school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, while Wednesdays will be used as a fully remote learning day and deep cleaning days at all district school buildings.
