Bristol, VA Schools considering legal action over COVID state guidelines on outdoor seating capacity
School leaders in Bristol, VA are scheduled to meet Tuesday to consider legal action as the district continues to lobby for state changes regarding spectators at outdoor sporting events.
The Bristol, VA School Board will meet March 2nd in a closed session to discuss Gov. Ralph Northam’s Executive Order 72, which limits crowd size at outdoor athletic games to 30% of the occupancy rate of the facility, or 250 people.
Superintendent Dr. Keith Perrigan recently sent a letter to Gov. Ralph Northam and state health officials requesting they consider band members and cheerleaders participants which would allow for more parents and family members to attend events.
