JCPD: Man arrested after pouring gas around home and threatening to set it on fire
Johnson City Police have arrested a man after they say he was pouring gas around his house threatening to set it on fire.
Officers were called to a residence on W. Poplar St. Thursday, where the roommate of Kenneth Richards, 57, told authorities Richards had poured gas around the residence and under his door while the roommate was in his room.
The roommate said Richards had verbally threatened to set the home on fire and was locked inside of his room when police arrived, but was later arrested without incident. He’s facing an aggravated assault charge and was scheduled for a court appearance Friday morning at 10:30 a.m in Washington County General Sessions Court.
